Privacy Policy

Home Hub is a free, open-source app for household coordination. This policy describes how we handle your information when you use the hosted app or your own deployment.

Information we collect

  • From Google sign-in: We receive and store your account id, email, name, and profile picture so you can sign in and be identified in your household.
  • Optional Google Calendar: If you connect Google Calendar, we store OAuth tokens and use them to read your calendar events (read-only) so we can display them on your household calendar and dashboard.
  • Data you create: Households, members, chores, notes, lists, people, day milestones, tone-setter lines, and related preferences you add in the app.
  • Optional file uploads: If you attach images or other files to list items or notes, those files are stored to provide that feature.

How we use it

We use this information only to provide the app: authentication, household features, and storage. We do not sell your data. The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics in its codebase.

Where it's stored

Your data is stored in a database (e.g. Neon) and, if you use uploads, in object storage (e.g. Vercel Blob). Server locations depend on the hosting provider used for the deployment you use.

Third parties

Sign-in is provided by Google and is subject to Google's privacy policy. The hosting, database, and storage providers used by the deployment (e.g. Vercel, Neon) also process data to run the service.

Your choices

You can stop using the app at any time or leave households from within the app. If you self-host Home Hub, you control your own data. For the hosted app, you may request removal of your account and household data; contact the project (e.g. via the GitHub repository) to do so.

Open source

Home Hub's code is open source. You can run your own instance and retain full control over your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
